‘Live Black Belt Level’

Originally, to practice kung fu did not just mean to practice Chinese martial arts.
Instead, it referred to the process of one's training - the strengthening of the body and the mind,
the learning and the perfection of one's skills – rather than to what was being trained.
It refers to excellence achieved through long practice in any endeavor.

When one has accomplished this, he is said to have Gōngfu (功夫).

Kung Fu is a Martial Art and even at the 'Kids' level it will involve contact between students,
Instructor and students, and props used as part of the teaching process

The slogan of Kung Fu for Kids is ‘Character through Achievement’.  And that is Master Troy’s goal for all his students as he creates an environment where discipline and good behavior are nurtured and allows for a child’s natural enthusiasm to flourish.  He offers them challenges while supporting their efforts and focuses on building good character as well as strong minds and bodies.   Thus, character is built on a foundation of achieving self-discipline, dedication, perseverance and the experience of team camaraderie.   Master Troy does not teach aggression or competition.  His methods offer children a chance to experience a sense of accomplishment that can only be felt by having earned it themselves.  They find personal achievement as they find the inner strength to progress through the ranks of belt levels.   They are encouraged to always do their best and ‘Live Black Belt Level’ in all aspects of their life.

Kung Fu for Kids is offered through the Naperville Park District
and Fox Valley Park District.
